چکیده
Bronchopulmonary neuroendocrine tumors (BPNETs) are the second most common subset of NETs after gastroenteropancreatic NETs. Historically, clinical studies have excluded BPNETs during drug development and data is often extrapolated from non-BPNETs. However, growing burden novel treatment strategies including targeted therapies radiopharmaceuticals paved way for revisiting strategies. In this review, we go over recent advances in management summarize consensus guidelines with help research scenarios.

Surgical Management of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors
Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pancNETs) are uncommon tumors with an estimated incidence of 1 to 1.5 per 100,000 and a prevalence of 35 per 100,000 in the United States. They originate from the embryonic endodermal cells that give rise to the islets of Langerhans. These cells are specialized cells that produce, store, and secrete peptides and biogenic amines and were formerly known as the am...
متن کاملDiagnosis and Management of Rectal Neuroendocrine Tumors
The incidence of rectal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) has increased by almost ten-fold over the past 30 years. There has been a heightened awareness of the malignant potential of rectal NETs. Fortunately, many rectal NETs are discovered at earlier stages due to colon cancer screening programs. Endoscopic ultrasound is useful in assessing both residual tumor burden after retrospective diagnosis a...

متن کاملGastric neuroendocrine tumors: Biology and management
Neoplasms may originate from any of the endocrine cells of the gastric wall, most commonly the enterochromaffinlike (ECL) cells of the oxyntic mucosa. In recent years, the increasing number of screening gastroscopies and biopsies, and the widespread application of sophisticated immunohistochemical stains for neuroendocrine markers, have resulted in the frequent detection of ECL tumors. The latt...
متن کاملNeuroendocrine Rectal Tumors: Main Features and Management
The incidence of neuroendocrine tumors of the rectum has been increasing in the last decades, partly due to improved investigation. They are mostly well-differentiated small tumors with a rather good overall prognosis. In the last few years, some aspects of neuroendocrine tumors have been evolving. In 2010, the World Health Organization proposed a new classification, indicating that these tumor...
